BUSINESS ANALYST (F / H)

The Data and Analytics Research team conducts deep research into specific sectors of the tech industry and state-of-the-art technologies, such as cloud costs, container runtime platforms, or cloud security. Our goal is to better understand best practices and trends in the space. We share our findings with external communities and use these newfound insights to help establish Datadog as a thought leader, improve our products internally, and enable data-driven decisions. We’re looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join our team to help shape some of the new areas of research we are exploring, such as AI, AI observability, and AI infrastructure.

What You’ll Do:

• Collaborate with Data Engineers and Product Engineers to build high-volume and high-quality datasets that will shape our reports.
• Leverage technology such as DBT to make data easily available for analysis and other purposes.
• Test hypotheses, discover patterns and trends in the industry, and distill that data into concise insights.
• Communicate findings to Product, Engineering, Design, Marketing, and Community to help them tell a data-driven story to a public audience and influence internal roadmaps.
• Actively contribute to our company-wide community of Data Analysts: fostering collaboration and sharing best practices to push data-driven decision-making to the next level!

Who You Are:

• You have 5+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, performing data analysis and creating visualizations using BI tools such as Metabase, Looker, or Tableau.
• You are fluent in writing analytical SQL and understand the difference between SQL that works and performant SQL.
• You have experience working with high-scale datasets and with data modeling and transformation, using tools such as dbt.
• You are driven to know “why” and have a natural curiosity and investigative mindset.
• You are a clear and concise communicator who works well with others and can explain complex datasets or queries to non-technical people in understandable ways.
• You are excited to work in a fast, high-growth startup environment and thrive on both autonomy and collaboration.
