Biostatistician / data scientist on Secondary data – Permanent position

Horiana is a consulting company dedicated to epidemiology and biostatistics, designing and conducting real-world studies in the healthcare field. Horiana aims to support its clients − private and public/academic professionals − at all stages of their projects.

Within the Secondary Databases department, you will be in charge of statistical analyses of epidemiological studies based on secondary databases (SNDS, PMSI, data warehouses, etc.). You will also be involved in other steps of the study (preparing responses to requests for proposals, design & analyses conception, meetings, dissemination of results). Strong skills in biostatistics and knowledge in epidemiology are required, and an interest or experience in data science (sequencing, clustering) and data visualization would be appreciated.

Profile

1. A MSc or PhD degree in applied statistics in the fields of health and life sciences
2. At least 2-3 years of relevant experience in RWS in a CRO, pharma or academic environment
3. Strong statistical programming skills (SAS / R as a minimum)
4. Interest for Data Science (sequencing, clustering…) and/or data visualization
5. Experience in the use of French or other claims data (SNDS, PMSI) would be a plus
6. Proficiency in French and English
7. Autonomy, organization skills, and ability to identify priorities

Missions

1. Identification of relevant designs and statistical analyses to be implemented
2. Data management and programming of statistical analyses
3. Writing and reviewing of study documentation (methodology sections of synopsis and protocols, statistical analysis plans, statistical reports, etc.)
4. Preparation of meetings and presentation of statistical results
5. Writing/participation in the drafting of standard or specific operating procedures
6. Contribution to responses to request for proposals
7. Continuous development of personal scientific skills to keep up to date with scientific progress
