In this Digital acceleration context, Royal Canin needs to reinforce its internal strengths with digital, user-centric, and data capabilities. Based in Aimargues, this job will sit in our Digital Factory, which mission is to:
- Develop our Service-driven and digital platforms supporting “Pet Health Guardians”
- Develop our key capabilities on Design Thinking, UX, Agile Management, Mobile/Web/Ecommerce development, Digital Platform deployment and Data-driven transformation.
- Leverage those capabilities to design and build our future Business Models
- Help in acquiring data and driving traffic to our owned assets, which will help transform data collected into digital performance metrics and business insights.
- Push from global to deploy@ scale and pull from local to global synergy
Reporting to the Develop Factory Lead, we are hiring a Backend Architect, who will define and drive the Backend technology strategy across the Digital Factory to support the organization ambitions.
What are we looking for?
- 7 to 15 years' experience in Microservices Development for digital environment
- Management of complex technical projects on an international level & in Agile methodology (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
- Ability to work with different teams and various team dynamics to achieve challenging delivery objectives
- Lead of technical teams with external and internal actors
- Fast Learner, Influencing and negotiations skills
- Fluent in English
What will be your key responsibilities?
The role of Backend Architect entails leading, guiding, and supervising multiple development teams working on projects utilizing Node.js, Angular, and/or React technologies. The Backend Architect plays a crucial role in designing and implementing robust and scalable technical solutions, ensuring the quality, performance, and consistency of the developed applications.
As Backend Architect, you will have to:
- Leadership:
- Establish the software/microservices architecture of the project or steer it in a different direction, in alignment with the technical direction of the project.
- Oversee the quality of what is produced by the team.
- Communicate on technical matters, leveraging expertise and contributing to the visibility of the team's expertise.
- Ensure internal coordination between teams involved in the project.
- Ensure the flow of information and validate necessary technical actions.
- Propose the right design based on functional and business challenges, advocating for choices in front of stakeholders.
- Technical Leadership: Lead and mentor multiple development teams in designing, implementing, and maintaining software solutions based on Angular and/or React.
- System Architecture: Design and define the technical architecture of applications, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
- Collaboration: Collaborate closely with development teams, Delivery Leads, and PO to understand business requirements and define appropriate technical solutions.
- Standards and Best Practices: Establish and enforce coding standards, best practices, and development conventions within the teams.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the development lifecycle.
Meetings:
- Synchronization with backend lead devs of all product squads
- Technical retrospective: Once per sprint, exchange with the entire DEV team on technical improvements
- Back and Front Design Authority (weekly)
- Synchronization with front and back teams (sharing new topics, roadmaps, etc.)
- Synchronization with DevOps
