Technical Lead (Remote Sensing)

France | ️ SpaceTech | Full-time | French Citizenship Required

Are you ready to shape the future of satellite-based environmental monitoring and Earth Observation applications?

We are hiring a Technical Lead to join our client, a NewSpace company in France to work on image processing, remote sensing, and space-related projects.

About the Role

As Technical Lead, you will play a crucial part in defining and executing their technical vision. You’ll be leading and mentoring other junior team members, ensuring the successful delivery of high-impact projects in their projects for Earth Observation and environmental monitoring.

This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for a problem-solver who thrives in an agile, fast-paced environment and is passionate about leveraging space technology for real-world impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical development for Earth Observation and Space data applications.
• Oversee and mentor a team of junior engineers.
• Collaborate directly with the other internal leaders on technical strategy, architecture, and R&D priorities.
• Ensure the integration of AI / ML, image processing, and satellite data for Earth Observation and environmental applications.
• Work closely with government, defence agencies, and space organisations.
• Stay ahead of emerging trends in Earth observation and space applications.

Your Profile

• French citizenship (mandatory) – due to collaboration on classified military projects.
• 5+ years of experience in a technical leadership role within remote sensing, image processing, or space-related fields.
• Strong expertise in satellite data analysis, AI / ML for geospatial applications, and signal / image processing.
• Experience leading and mentoring technical teams.
• Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or relevant remote sensing & data processing tools.
• Knowledge of Satellite Imagery and Earth observation datasets is a plus.
• Experience with Methane Detection is highly desired!
• Fluent in English and French.
