Our department is responsible for the stewardship of hundreds of millions of dollars of new Capital construction, designed to support student learning and promote student success. We work with students and families, teachers and staff, consultants, and contractors to provide safe, sustainable, and supportive environments for learning.
The team is responsible for managing the design and construction of all new schools, building additions, childcare centres and outdoor learning spaces. We work to create responsive learning environments that engage and care for students and provide opportunities that inspire curiosity, reflection, collaboration, lifelong learning, and leadership.
Many of our staff are licensed members of the Ontario Association of Architects and support the OAA’s role in promoting public appreciation of architecture and the allied arts and sciences, by promoting and improving public institutional architecture through the design of our schools.
Reporting to and under the direction of the Sr. Manager of Project Resources, this position is responsible for the timely delivery of multiple capital projects/programs and other department initiatives. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
NOTE: This position requires travelling to TCDSB sites on a regular basis. The incumbent must have access to a vehicle and a valid Ontario driver’s license (eligibility for mileage reimbursement). Requires wearing of appropriate and current safety equipment (safety shoes, hard hat) for TCDSB construction sites. The position may require call-out beyond regular workday/week schedule due to emergencies, or necessity to participate in a rotating call-out schedule.
