The Opportunity

Inside the Android team of In Person Payment – Gateway, your work will be to develop and maintain the brand new Android payment device that Worldline is preparing to serve its customers which are some of the biggest European retailers. You will be part of this exciting challenge to create the very first release as well as the upcoming ones over the coming years. You will work in collaboration with the French development team as well as the Indian development and QA teams.

We thus need someone able to bring their payment and Kotlin skills as well as their team spirit. He/she will be fluent in technical English to work collaboratively with our Indian colleagues.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Participate in daily meetings to share progress and blocking points with your peers.
• Understand the detailed requirements which are to be developed by your team.
• Define the best strategy to create the code answering those requirements.
• Write both code and unit tests to achieve good code quality.
• Deliver runnable software to testers and ensure that your delivery fully meets the requirements.
• Prepare and organize demos for other stakeholders (Product Owner, Technical Leader, etc.).
• Actively contribute to the success of releases.
• Proactively propose technical enhancements to the team as well as to the Product Owner.
• Ensure that the continuous integration is kept up and running and that you respect the Definition of Done defined by the team.
• Actively participate in all Agile processes.

Who Are We Looking For

• Master 2 in computer science or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of experience in software development with expertise in Kotlin on Android.
• At least 3 years of experience in payment device development.
• Knowledge of Android development environment such as Android Studio.
• Knowledge of Gradle on Android.
• Excellent knowledge of source control tools such as GitLab.
• Knowledge of Agile processes such as SCRUM.
• Excellent technical English, both spoken and written.

Additional Skills:

• Ability to work fast and with quality inside an international environment.
• Ability to share knowledge with others.
• Able to understand the needs of Worldline and translate them into technical specifications.
• Be flexible and adaptable to the challenges of delivery.
• Willingness to increase experience in Payment and/or Android.
• Autonomous and able to self-organize in day-to-day work.
• Strong team spirit and excellent relationship skills.
