Joining the fluids team, you will contribute to the design of different systems and sub-systems that make up Dark’s spacecraft, vector, and carrier. Collaborating with the team lead and other engineering teams, you will perform aero- and thermodynamic analyses for carrier separation and re-entry, aircraft performance studies, sonic footprint analysis, and computational fluid dynamics modeling.

First Missions

  1. Getting up to speed with the current systems and mission design
  2. Perform CFD simulations to support spacecraft sub-systems design
  3. Support aircraft performance modeling to optimize vector separation conditions

Responsibilities

  1. Define aerodynamic configurations in line with specifications
  2. Contribute to the improvement of different analytical and semi-empirical models for internal and external flows, store separation, flight mechanics, heating, and soundwave propagation
  3. Perform computational fluid dynamic modeling and calculations
  4. Plan and participate in test campaigns (wind tunnel, internal flow, combustion, etc.)
  5. Document your work in a clear manner to inform future analyses and tests

Requirements

  1. 3+ years of experience in a similar position
  2. Ideal background from the aerospace / defense industry (e.g., MBDA, Dassault, Safran, Airbus, etc.)
  3. Knowledge of theoretical and numerical fluid dynamics
  4. Knowledge of CFD suites (Fluent, StarCCM, OpenFOAM...) and programming skills
  5. Knowledge of wind tunnel tests is a plus
  6. Knowledge of the different phases of an industrial project (development through qualification) is a plus
  7. Ability to work autonomously and effectively summarize complex information
  8. Interpersonal and leadership capabilities
  9. As we have an international team, knowledge of technical English is required. Fluency in French is a plus

Total salary package begins at €58,000, along with additional performance-based and project-related bonuses.
