A Day in the Life
As a Design Engineer in our Packaging department based in Clichy, you'll be a key player in bringing innovative beauty products to life. Reporting to the Packaging Conception Manager, you'll join a dynamic 16-person team responsible for designing cutting-edge packaging solutions for new product launches. This role offers a unique blend of creative problem-solving and technical expertise, allowing you to contribute to both immediate business needs and future innovations.
- Design & Development: Using CAD software (Solidworks and/or Catia), you'll design cosmetic packaging (plastic, glass, or metal parts), including 3D modeling, 2D drawings with functional dimensioning, and prototype production follow-up.
- Simulation & Analysis: You'll leverage numerical simulation (Linear Static) and rheological simulation to ensure the functionality and performance of your designs.
- Collaboration & Innovation: You'll collaborate closely with packaging teams, brainstorm creative solutions, and interact with suppliers (converters, mold makers, and various partners) to bring your designs to fruition. You'll also contribute to innovation projects, pushing the boundaries of packaging technology and potentially contributing to patent filings.
- New Technologies: You'll have the opportunity to work with in-house 3D printing equipment and other cutting-edge technologies, constantly exploring new possibilities in packaging design.
We Are Looking For
- Technical Expertise: Master's degree (Bac +5) in mechanical design with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a mechanical design office. Prior experience in packaging or knowledge of plastics processing and molds (injection / injection-blow molding / extrusion-blow molding) is highly desirable.
- Software Proficiency: Excellent command of Solidworks and/or Catia V5, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Collaboration & Communication: Strong ability to work in a team, excellent communication skills, and a good level of English (written and spoken).
- Organization & Rigor: Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Creativity & Innovation: A creative mindset and a passion for exploring new technologies.
