Type de structure : Permanent scientist position (researcher) at NeuroSpin neuroimaging center in Paris-Saclay, France. NeuroSpin is an institute of CEA Fundamental Research Division. The position is opened within the BrainOmics team - research theme "Imaging-Genetics".
Context:
The BrainOmics Team (lead: V Frouin) is responsible for research and development in imaging-genetics, a field at the intersection of neuroinformatics, bioinformatics, applied statistics, and machine learning. The team is involved in several French and European projects.
Contexte et mission :
The recruited researcher will explore the role of genetics and environmental disturbances in the variability of rich phenotypes originating from imaging and/or medical, behavioral scores. In collaboration with neuroscientists and physicians, she/he will work to discover new biomarkers and markers/models for basic research in neurosciences (e.g., development, ageing). The research will be performed on the neuroimaging-genetics cohorts being built at NeuroSpin (IMAGEN, EU-AIMS, Senior, ...) for studies in neuroscience, neurodegenerative diseases, psychiatry, oncology (radiomics), or preclinical studies.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
• Ph.D. in applied mathematics, bioinformatics, image processing, biostatistics, machine learning, genetic epidemiology or related disciplines.
• Initial training or current position should bring knowledge in genetics, genetic epidemiology or genomics.
• Experience in applying and developing Machine Learning techniques in massive high-dimensional data. Experience related to biostatistics, machine learning, graphical models for association, heritability, and integration studies between imaging phenotypes and genetic, epigenetic, and gene expression measures.
• Experience in scientific programming ideally in Python. Familiarity with domain frameworks in Biostatistics (R/Bioconductor, Galaxy), Neuroimaging (Nipype, SPM, FSL, BrainVisa), and Machine Learning (Scikit-learn).
• Good communication skills to work in a multi-professional team. Interest and knowledge in neuroimaging, neuroinformatics, and bioinformatics will be appreciated. The candidate has a PhD and spent one or more PostDoc periods in scientific fields related to imaging-genetics. Ideally, she/he has published several papers as a first author and built a professional network in related scientific fields.
The position is very interdisciplinary, and proficiency in each domain is not expected. Therefore, candidates demonstrating skills in one or two domains and a motivated interest in innovative and interdisciplinary approaches are welcome.
