Lead Engineer, Oy Galvatek Ab

Our main market is the aviation industry and about 90% of our sales is export sales to Europe, China, SEA and Middle East. We have delivered over 600 plants over the past 40 years. We offer customer-tailored projects, from initial design to turnkey delivery and related support services. Galvatek belongs to the Belgium John Cockerill group and its surface treatment division which is one of the leading and growing actors in the global surface treatment market.

Now we are looking for a LEAD ENGINEER to join our team in Lahti, Finland.

As a Lead Engineer, you will act as a technical coordinator in multidisciplinary projects, ensuring seamless integration of design work, implementation, and customer needs. You will collaborate closely with the Project Manager, design teams, clients, and technical experts to drive project success.

Your key responsibilities include:

1. Technical project management and coordination, ensuring alignment across all engineering disciplines while maintaining a clear understanding of the project’s overall scope and objectives.
2. Identifying and resolving project challenges, working closely with internal teams and providing regular updates to stakeholders.
3. Communicating technical details clearly and effectively with customers and other stakeholders.
4. Ensuring project consistency and compliance with industry standards as well as maintaining key project documentation.

In this role, you will report to the Technical Director, and your office is in Lahti, Finland. As the products are very specific, your presence is required onsite during the orientation, after which you can work flexibly hybrid. You can expect to travel approximately 20 - 30 days yearly.

You are the person we are looking for if you have:

1. An educational background in e.g. mechanical or automation engineering (bachelor’s or master’s degree).
2. Experience in e.g. plant design and project management in process industries or manufacturing industries.
3. Excellent problem-solving abilities and a passion for taking ownership of complex entities.
4. Strong communication skills, allowing you to act as the interface between internal teams, clients, and stakeholders.
5. Fluent English is required for this role; Finnish is considered an advantage.
