Job Title: Work and Family Life Consultant (Remote)
Summary: Work and Family Life Consultants (WFLCs) provide one-on-one consultation, education, training, and information and referral services in support of the Work and Family Life (WFL) Program areas of the Fleet and Family Support Program (FFSP). WFLCs deliver support through various methods, including virtual services and in-person support, focusing on quality of life topics such as deployment support, relocation assistance, and family employment readiness.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-person and virtual workshops across various Work and Family Life Program areas for service members and families.
- Provide one-on-one consultations across various Work and Family Life Program areas for service members and families.
- Provide comprehensive location-specific information and referral services in-person or virtually.
- Support disaster preparedness and response to crisis events globally.
- Provide in-person support aboard Navy ships for Shipboard events and Return and Reunions (R&R).
- Ensure all services provided are documented in the government’s system of record.
- Utilize various technological tools for effective communication and virtual service delivery.
- Perform basic troubleshooting for technology challenges.
- Cross-train and support additional program areas as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Travel Requirements:
- Significant travel is required for in-person support at various locations and aboard Navy ships.
- Must meet health screening requirements for travel to remote locations.
Required Qualifications:
- Must reside in Italy or Spain.
- Must have existing or the ability to gain Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) status.
- Bachelor’s degree in social science or related field OR equivalent experience.
- Experience in making presentations and facilitating training for groups.
- Strong technical skills in using digital technology for virtual training.
- Knowledge of FFSP programs and experience in relevant program areas.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to meet naval shipboard requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience with Fleet and Family Support Programs.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Technological proficiency in communication tools and virtual service delivery.
- Strong presentation and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Professionalism and resilience in stressful situations.
Physical Demands: The role involves sitting, standing, bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds intermittently.
