Vice President of Sales – Spine Medical Devices

The Opportunity:
We are working with a fast-growing, innovative spinal implant company seeking a Vice President of Sales to lead its commercial expansion across the United States. This is an ideal role for either a proven Spine VP of Sales looking for their next challenge or a high-performing Spine Regional Vice President or Area Sales Manager ready to step into a national leadership role.

The Role:
Reporting directly to the CEO, the VP of Sales will take ownership of the company’s sales strategy, overseeing the current team of Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) and Area Sales Directors (ASDs), and driving both direct sales and channel strategy. This person will play a hands-on leadership role, working closely with the field team and executive leadership to accelerate revenue growth and market penetration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a national sales strategy aligned with growth targets.
- Manage, mentor, and expand the existing sales leadership team, including RSMs and ASDs.
- Build relationships with hospitals and distribution partners to enhance the company’s market position.
- Establish clear KPIs and performance metrics, ensuring accountability across the team.
- Drive new business development while ensuring strong support and growth within existing accounts.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Product Development, and Clinical teams to align sales initiatives with product positioning and customer needs.
- Provide regular sales forecasts, performance reports, and market insights to the CEO and Board.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven success in a senior sales leadership role within the spinal implant or broader spine medical device industry.
- Open to current VPs of Sales or Regional VPs/Regional Sales Directors looking to take the next step into a national leadership role.
- Deep knowledge of the spine market, including key distributor relationships, hospital procurement processes, and competitive dynamics.
- Ability to scale a sales organization, develop talent, and build a strong culture of performance and accountability.
- Strong commercial instincts and the ability to develop creative strategies for both direct and distributor sales channels.
- A leader who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves and working closely with the field team to close deals and support growth.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
