Protecnium is an international consulting firm specializing in engineering and technical services. We are currently looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join our team for a construction project in Texas, USA (on-site position).

Estimated duration of the position: 2 years - In general, when the project ends, we try to place the employee in other projects to give him / her continuity.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Develop electrical design documents and drawings for renewable energy / BESS projects.
2. Develop Electrical Engineering calculation processes for String sizing, DC and MV cable calculations, studies, Inverter sizing, and Inverter quantities for projects.
3. Develop preliminary design concepts based on engineering principles for solar PV and BESS system design for RFPs.
4. Interface with clients, project management, procurement professionals, and other engineering disciplines in matters dealing with project electrical systems.
5. Work with different departments to provide ongoing support with design concepts and design optimization of the solar PV systems.
6. Work with CAD designers to guide through layouts, single-line diagrams, and other design drawings and details.
7. Ensure appropriate procedures, design guidelines, and design tools are utilized on projects.
8. Attend and participate in project-related meetings.
9. Perform other assigned duties as determined by the EE Manager.
10. Develop in-depth expertise in modules, racking systems, inverters, and drivers to accurately design utility-scale solar PV projects.

Working hours: Monday to Friday : 40 hours weekly.

Requirements:

1. A minimum of 4 years experience as an Electrical Design Engineer in the construction of Photovoltaic Plants of 70 MW size.
2. Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering.
3. Experience with AutoCAD and PVsyst.
4. Proficient in understanding manufacturers’ design specifications, application constraints, and installation requirements.
5. Experienced in creating engineered solar PV site plans and single-line diagrams for both DC and AC systems.
6. Capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor under pressure.
7. Exceptional organizational skills.
