Technical Accountant - Reinsurance

About the Role:

You are responsible for the Accounting and Reporting activities associated with assigned Reinsurance accounts and/or markets.

This position will also be responsible for developing and monitoring reinsurance completeness and accuracy controls on assigned activity and collaborating with internal and external support relating to the dedicated clients/markets and responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform day-to-day operational Underwriting & Accounting support in an efficient, accurate and timely manner.
2. Liaising with clients and providing financial information.
3. Maintaining accounting records and preparing accounts and management information.
4. Monitoring credit control functions of Reinsurance Receivable/Payable and related Bank Accounts.
5. Work collaboratively with other functional areas (Operations, Finance, Claims) and other LSM branch finance teams.
6. Be responsible for the first line Credit Control processes and reports.
7. Support and development of the reporting processes, audits, etc.
8. Performing tests to check financial information and systems.
9. Work in assigned projects and areas of process improvement.
10. Adhere to all relevant regulatory requirements as part of your role, demonstrating behaviours set out in the Conduct Risk Policy related to your responsibilities.

Skills and Experience:

1. P&C insurance industry experience in Reinsurance Accounting or Controlling.
2. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or other Business degree preferred.
3. Knowledge and experience in dealing with Reinsurance Accounting (Treaty & Facultative) and understanding of technical booking and reporting processes.
4. Strong organizational, analytical and multi-tasking skills necessary to manage multiple deadlines and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
5. Ability to collaborate with others, adapt to change and accept challenging assignments.
6. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal (Spanish/English).
7. Ability to work within a diverse environment and handle pressure during key periods of the year.
