We currently have a vacancy for a Software Engineer to complement our existing team. The successful candidate will be involved in a great variety of projects spanning fields as varied as medical, science, or defense, with one common theme: light. ASE Optics Europe covers projects ranging from the design and construction of custom optical lens systems to fully integrated optical systems such as OCT or laser optical radar. ASE Optics Europe also participates in funded R&D projects such as those available through CDTI or Horizon Europe.

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our growing team and work on cutting-edge applications for optical systems. The ideal candidate is passionate about coding and technology, with hands-on experience in Linux environments. This role involves developing software for advanced imaging systems, laser-based applications, and other innovative optical technologies. The successful candidate will play a key role in bridging software and hardware to deliver high-performance solutions for diverse industries.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust, scalable, and efficient software solutions.
• Work with Linux-based systems for software deployment and testing.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate and optimize software-hardware interactions.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in software development.
• Experience in Python / C / C++ programming.
• Knowledge of Linux environment, shell scripts.
• Experience with embedded systems, including platforms such as Jetson Nano, Orin, or FPGA platforms (e.g. Xilinx / Altera).
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Good communication skills, both written and oral.

Optionals

• Understanding of CI / CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with image processing algorithms is a strong advantage.
• Basic understanding of hardware systems is a bonus.
