Position: Messaging Strategist
We are looking to hire a Messaging Strategist who can write high-quality marketing content. The Messaging Strategist will be responsible for drafting and editing content in the form of blogs, articles, and social media posts.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Messaging Strategy Development: Lead the development of a cohesive messaging strategy that aligns with the company’s mission, values, and goals. Ensure consistent messaging across all content types and platforms, from marketing to internal communications.
  2. Content Creation and Editing: Write, edit, and refine high-quality content for a variety of platforms, including websites, social media, emails, newsletters, press releases, and product descriptions. Ensure all content is engaging, accurate, and aligned with brand voice.
  3. Editorial Leadership and Standards: Establish and maintain editorial guidelines, ensuring that all written content adheres to brand voice, style, and tone guidelines. Act as the final gatekeeper for content, ensuring high editorial standards across all communication channels.
  4. Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product, and executive teams to develop messaging for campaigns, product launches, presentations, and other key initiatives. Align messaging with broader marketing strategies and business goals.
  5. Audience Research and Insights: Conduct research on target audiences to ensure that messaging resonates with the intended demographic. Use data and insights to refine tone, style, and messaging strategies to better connect with audiences.
  6. Optimization for Digital Platforms: Ensure that messaging is optimized for various digital platforms, leveraging SEO best practices where applicable to increase the reach and effectiveness of content.
  7. Crisis and Reputation Management Messaging: Provide strategic messaging guidance in times of crisis or when managing brand reputation. Develop clear, concise, and empathetic messaging for external communications during sensitive situations.
  8. Mentorship and Team Development: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior writers and content creators, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and high editorial standards.
  9. Content Audits and Refinement: Conduct regular content audits to identify inconsistencies, outdated messaging, and opportunities for improvement. Optimize and refresh existing content to ensure it aligns with current brand messaging and business objectives.

Job Requirements:
  1. 4+ years of marketing content writing experience.
  2. Direct marketing experience is a plus.
  3. Email marketing experience is preferred.
  4. Detail-oriented and able to work well under pressure; knowledge in optometry/ophthalmology is a plus.
  5. Ability to craft compelling, concise social media content using promotional language.
  6. Proven ability to communicate complex topics in relatable and understandable ways.
  7. Well-versed in SEO and able to write high-quality content that passes the "Google Test."
  8. Experience using content management systems and managing/editing websites (WordPress).
  9. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and Google Drive (Documents, Sheets, etc.).
  10. Well-organized, able to multitask, and possesses excellent time management skills.
  11. Strong research skills are a must.
  12. Bachelor's degree in journalism, communication, marketing, or a relevant field.
  13. Experience in medical content writing is an asset.

Position Details:
