Job Purpose

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Teaching
- Provide effective education in the relevant curriculum areas.
- Plan lessons that reflect the department Unit Planners.
- Lead lessons aligned with the school's Teaching and Learning Charter.
- Provide regular feedback on learning in line with the school's assessment policy.
- Maintain accurate records of student attainment.
- Participate in curriculum-based field trips and co-curricular activities.
- Prepare students for external examinations.
- Advise students on option choices.
- Support named students in undertaking Personal Projects.
- Participate in Academic Board meetings.
Pastoral
- Enhance student wellbeing and keep attendance records.
- Liaise with relevant teams to support students in need.
- Carry out break and lunchtime duties.
- Report safeguarding concerns to the appropriate team.
- Mentor older students when appropriate.
Parents
- Build trusting relationships with parents through timely communication.
- Complete regular reports and attend scheduled conferences.
- Maintain ongoing records of student attainment.
- Engage in proactive communication, including sharing positive updates.
- Promote best practices through newsletters and social media.
Teamwork
- Support colleagues in the school and wider communities.
- Assist Heads of Subject and Heads of Year with departmental development plans.
- Contribute to curriculum development and share resources.
Professional Development
- Commit to continuous improvement through professional development.
- Use feedback and data analysis to improve practice.
- Stay up to date with subject content and innovative teaching approaches.
Qualifications
- Experience teaching A Level, AP, IB MYP, IB DP, or Primary (minimum 3 to 5 years).
- Bachelor’s degree in Spanish Philology.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
Experience
- Experience working in an international school setting.
- Demonstrated passion and knowledge of subject areas.
