Thales Digital Identity & Security is a global leader in digital security, bringing trust to an increasingly connected world. We design and deliver a wide range of products, software, and services based on two core technologies: digital identification and data protection.

With the massive surge of electronic travel documents and national eID cards, Thales Digital & Security global business unit is supporting border agencies, government authorities, and airports to exploit technology convergence to gain consistent, comprehensive border, visa management, and document verification worldwide, that will:

1. Deliver seamless travel with border control applications.
2. Offer convenience for travelers for fast and secure border crossing.
3. Improve border intelligence for detection and prevention, including some of the most disruptive new technologies like biometrics, machine learning, or microservices.

As part of the R&D team of the Software Engineering Group for Document Verification, you will act as a developer and technical specialist for technical project managers/leaders. You will design and implement software components and products, qualification, and integration of third party's hardware/software.

As a Java Developer, you will be responsible for developing software development activities throughout the project:

1. Defining and ensuring the best solution architecture and design while working with the other development team members and the product owners.
2. Writing well designed, testable, efficient code.
3. Contributing in all phases of the development lifecycle.
4. Ensuring that transversal requirements (e.g. security) are defined and used in the project development.
5. Supporting other colleagues on technical tasks.

Competences:

Technical/functional skills:

1. > 4 years of professional experience working with Java technologies: Java, Springboot, Quarkus or similar frameworks.
2. Professional experience working with databases: Relational databases: Oracle, MySQL, MariaDB; Non-Relational databases: MongoDB, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Couchbase.

Other (advantage):

1. > 2 years working in multiplatform applications.
2. Knowledge of scripting languages: JRuby.
3. Knowledge of other programming languages: .NET, C#, Python…
4. Knowledge of Jenkins.
5. Experience in build automation: Gradle.
6. Experience in containerization: Docker.
7. Knowledge of front-end technologies: Javascript/Typescript, Angular > 4+.

1. Fluent in Spanish & English (written and spoken).
2. Strong teamwork spirit.
3. Eager to learn, share, and participate.
