About the gig
We are looking for a Database and ETL Processes Subject Matter Expert to act as a Content Developer and Lead Instructor for an intensive 32-hour course. This course, designed for professionals in the field of data management, covers relational databases, modeling in Snowflake, and ETL processes. The ideal candidate should have exceptional communication skills and patience to explain complex technical concepts to a specialized audience. Additionally, they must be capable of developing course content and structuring a dynamic and hands-on learning experience.
Responsibilities
Teaching Experience
- Design and develop the course content, ensuring a clear structure aligned with learning objectives.
- Teach online classes for four consecutive days (8 hours per day).
- Explain key concepts such as relational databases, ETL processes, Snowflake modeling, and data governance.
- Lead practical sessions where students work with real datasets and tools like SqlDBM and Power BI.
- Guide students in implementing an ETL workflow, from data ingestion to structuring in the Gold layer.
- Assess and provide feedback on student projects.
Course Management
- Ensure that participants acquire practical skills and can apply them in their work environment.
- Foster a collaborative learning community, encouraging students to think strategically about their data models.
- Coordinate with the Ironhack team to deliver progress reports and student evaluations.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in relational databases, SQL, and ETL processes.
- Professional experience with Snowflake and data modeling tools like SqlDBM.
- Advanced knowledge of data architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers) and governance strategies.
- Ability to design and implement efficient and automated ETL workflows.
- Hands-on experience with Power BI and data visualization.
- Fluency in Spanish for teaching; all internal communication with the company will be in English.
- Passion for teaching and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and accessibly.
- Exceptional communication skills and willingness to receive and apply feedback.
- Experience in mentoring, team leadership, or technical training is a plus.
