Senior Software Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to supervise and perform the accounting functions for our business in Croatia from our Global Business Services (GBS) in Barcelona. In this role, you will ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting and regulatory standards. Reporting directly to the Global Accounting Manager, you will play a crucial part in our accounting team performing financial operations.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assist, perform and supervise the monthly and annual accounting close process.
2. Prepare and review financial statements to ensure accuracy and strict adherence to regulatory compliance.
3. Keep updated on changes in accounting and tax regulations.
4. Collaborate with various departments to provide financial information.
5. Collaborate on internal and external audits, ensuring thorough preparation and timely resolution of identified issues.
6. Assist in the preparation of the Statutory Accounts of the entities under scope.
7. Prepare monthly review and reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.
8. As part of the GBS accounting team, participate in accounting tasks and assist on finance projects such as integration of entities under the GBS, implementation of new accounting treatments/standards, robotization and digitalization of the tasks.

REQUIREMENTS

1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration.
2. Proven experience of minimum 5/6 years in general ledger accounting and financial roles.
3. In-depth knowledge in accounting policies and IFRS. Valuable Big 4 audit experience.
4. Proficient in SAP FI, with advanced skills in financial analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel.
5. Croatian language is a must. Excellent command of English and Spanish.
6. Skills: high level of integrity and ethics, accountability, proactivity and collaboration, strong problem-solving skills, effective communication abilities to collaborate across diverse teams, and able to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
