Who are we? Santander Auto Software is an exciting new greenfield programme currently in the early stages, where we are building a brand-new, state-of-the-art software platform and product suite for the auto finance industry, which will be rolled out across Europe. The business is 100% tech-focused, remote-first, and comprised of skilled cross-border software builders, along with a leadership team with accomplished backgrounds. You will be partners with, not providers to, colleagues in product and the business. There will be no order takers and no order givers. Together with your partners in product and business, you will share equally in decisions about features, dates, and priorities. More importantly, you will share equally in the results produced by the software you partnered to build and evolve. That’s a lot of responsibility, but we know that’s the new role of technology in every part of our lives, and as software builders, we’re excited to co-own the results, not just the effort.

What are we looking for? We are looking for skilled back-end focused software engineers with experience working with Java (or Kotlin) and Spring Boot, Kubernetes, and AWS, who have experience working in a software on-demand production environment. You will build cloud-native, AWS-based, greenfield software and will have the time and support to invent solutions to a wide variety of user, business, and technical challenges. We have no cut-and-paste roles, and neither will your software be of the cut-and-paste (or integrate and configure) variety. We operate a 'build it and own it' culture, and so you will have a DevOps and individual contributor mindset.

Key technical experience:

1. Software development in Java (Spring Boot) or Kotlin - design, build, and deploy
2. Production deployment experience working with AWS
3. Experience with automated build and test systems for CI/CD (using Docker, Jenkins, etc.)
4. Experienced in true Agile and its engineering practices with a true DevOps mindset

These will be key hires for back-end building squads and will help shape this area of the business for scale, being a key member of a fast-growing global team!
