Senior Corporate Accountant

We are looking for a Senior Corporate Accountant to join our dynamic team in Madrid. You will be reporting to the Corporate Accounting Manager and working closely with the global accounting team. This is a full-time role, and we offer an exciting relocation package for candidates moving to Madrid.

In this role, your primary responsibilities will include supporting the monthly financial closing processes according to US GAAP / IFRS and local legal requirements. Key tasks include:

1. Supporting the Corporate Accounting Manager for monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing for all global entities.
2. Assisting the HQ accounting team with general ledger and transaction processing to ensure accurate and efficient monthly closing.
3. Managing group bookings for leases (ASC 842).
4. Handling commissions preparation and bookings.
5. Managing purchasing accounting and integration of M&A activities.
6. Preparing journal entries (JEs) and reconciling balance sheet accounts.
7. Preparing balance sheet and P&L flux for EMEA entities.
8. Liaising with external auditors for statutory and consolidated audits.
9. Recommending improvements to streamline processes across all entities.
10. Supporting internal control processes.
11. Ad hoc project work as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance.
2. Minimum 3 years of experience in public accounting.
3. Experience with NetSuite (Oracle) is a plus.
4. Extensive knowledge of finance and accounting principles, including Sarbanes Oxley Act, US GAAP, and/or IFRS.
5. Strong ability to assess financial business processes.
6. Excellent Excel and computer skills.
7. Proficiency in English is required; additional European languages (French, German) are a plus.
8. Willingness to learn and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
