About the Position
The Sales Application Specialist Biotechnology (SAS Biotech) is a mixed role including both sales and technical responsibilities. The main job tasks include actively promoting and selling our products and solutions while keeping track of the technical status of the instrumentation park, reagent stocks, and IT solutions. He/she will focus on the Central Lab and Clinical Areas such as Pathology, Hematology, Genetic Departments, and Oncology Labs and Research Institutes, providing support to Cytogenetics techniques such as FISH for our customers.
The SAS Biotech will provide customers with solutions that adapt to their changing needs, creating a relationship of trust that brings value to our customers and the Company in the medium and long term.
Key Accountabilities
- Achieve sales and commercial targets established by the Company.
- Provide application support.
- Support laboratory organization improvement by offering technical advice and solutions.
- Encourage cross-selling by providing product information and introducing cost/efficiency balanced tailored techniques.
- Present our products and concepts to institutions, end-user groups, clinicians, and expert groups.
- Create a network of trust within the organization and organize field visits with colleagues.
- Coordinate instrument installations by interacting with different departments (Logistics, Technical Service, Marketing...) and perform product and service demonstrations.
- Maintain the training level of our users’ instruments and reagents and manage appropriate documentation.
- Work as a team player with the KAM and Business Unit in managing opportunities and risks.
- Maintain a global perspective to check the service level offered by different departments, reducing the risk of complaints.
- Provide troubleshooting for technical inquiries.
- Resolve product incidents at the technical level in coordination with HelpLine, Technical Service, and Product Managers.
- Manage tenders (specification and profitability analysis, preparation of necessary documentation, litigation support).
- Provide first-level (remote and/or on-site) technical support to customer accounts regarding products, applications, and operations, assisting them with the integration of systems in their laboratories.

Minimum Knowledge & Experience Required for the Position:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences or related discipline.
Experience:
- Experience in Clinical Areas such as Pathology, Hematology, and Genetics is desirable.
- Knowledge in Oncology, Cytogenetics, and Oncological Markers will be considered.
- Experience in Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) technique is highly valuable.
- Training or experience in Real Time PCR and NGS technology is a plus.
- Experience in the Oncology field (or IVD market) will be favorably considered.
