What you'll be doing
We are looking for a meticulous and dedicated QA Engineer to join our team dedicated to developing our DAM offering in use at the biggest media brands in the world. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards of our solution, which is pivotal in shaping how content and assets are managed and used by thousands of journalists, freelancers, and editors globally.
You will work alongside a diverse global team of professionals, leveraging agile methodologies to implement testing protocols aimed at maintaining the reliability and integrity of our solutions. Your expertise will directly contribute to the excellence of our product, ensuring flawless functionality and user experience.
- Design, develop, and execute test cases, considering technical capabilities, workflows, and usability.
- Conduct thorough quality assessments and coordinate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve defects across the software development lifecycle.
- Challenge assumptions and standards by actively engaging with engineers and product owners to advocate for quality and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain a repository of test cases and scenarios for regression, functional, and performance testing to support continuous integration and delivery pipelines.
- Track and verify defects and fixes, ensuring alignment with specified requirements and end-user needs.
- Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems from a quality assurance perspective.
- Remain up to date with new testing tools and strategies.
What you'll bring
We seek a QA engineer who exhibits a comprehensive understanding of quality assurance methodologies and is adept in designing and executing test plans to ensure our software meets the highest standards.
The ideal candidate will bring these skills and expertise to the team:
- Expertise in Test Design: Demonstrated ability to craft detailed test designs, including test plans, cases, and scripts, to uncover defects and ensure the functionality of software products.
- Risk-based testing: Proficiency in risk-based testing approaches to prioritize testing efforts based on the potential impact of defects, ensuring efficient allocation of testing resources.
- Familiarity with TestRail and Jira: Practical experience with test management tools such as TestRail for organizing test cases and tracking results, along with Jira for issue tracking and project management.
- Gherkin: Familiarity with the Gherkin language for writing structured and clear acceptance criteria, enabling automated testing scenarios.
You are expected to have a solid grasp of both the software development lifecycle and the software testing lifecycle. Experience with agile methodologies is preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with a proactive mindset. You should be capable of taking the initiative, working independently, and driving quality assurance activities without the need for close supervision.
