We want to join a Project Manager in the International Project Execution team.


Area of Responsibilities

  1. Acquisition and order negotiation

Main Tasks

  1. Acquisition and order negotiation
  2. Participation in the sales / project initiation phase, by analyzing customer requirements and checking their technical feasibility and transferability into a bid or project cost plan
  3. Carry out or attend contract negotiations
  4. Ensure the use of Siemens products, where available and applicable
  5. Ensure compliance with the corresponding LoA process, where applicable
  6. Check the project costing for financial efficiency
  7. Involve the corresponding partners in the sales / project initiation phase
  8. Project organization and management
  9. Ensure that the order entry calculation is done and documented
  10. Ensure that all plan elements (e.g. system structure, WBS, etc.) are taken into account in the sales / project initiation phase
  11. Handle all PM@Siemens-related plan elements and milestone results according to the project category
  12. Prepare and maintain the Siemens project management plan
  13. Manage the project within the defined financial targets (budget, target costing, target profit)
  14. Prepare the project manager target agreement
  15. Optimize project profitability and ensuring business success
  16. Implement procedures to resolve questions and problems (identification, analysis, measures and monitoring) with all relevant internal and external partners
  17. Involve Procurement at an early stage in line with the applicable Siemens procurement guidelines
  18. Plan the procurement strategy (in local Procurement entity) with the business manager and procurement department of the respective organizational units
  19. Ensure that all procurement activities comply with the applicable processes and regulations
  20. Select subcontractors / partners
  21. Select and involve subcontractors / partners in accordance with the defined criteria
  22. Monitor the performance of subcontractors / partners, escalate issues in good time (e.g. quality defects or problems in cooperation) and initiate appropriate measures in good time in the event of any non-conformities
  23. Initiate invoicing in accordance with project progress
  24. Organize acceptance testing and project handover to contracted partner(s)
  25. Define procedures and requirements for quality management (audits, quality seals, acceptance tests) in accordance with the applicable quality management regulations and standards
  26. Manage regular project review meetings and organize the milestone prerequisites
  27. Manage the acceptance of supplies and services, subject to quality checks
  28. Document all work results in line with the applicable standards
  29. Project controlling and reporting
  30. Optimize the project cash flow and assets
  31. Ensure the regular controlling of finances and regular reporting on finances
  32. Ensure compliance with the IFRS (International Finance and Reporting Standards)
  33. Continuously monitor project status, taking the IFRS into consideration, identify any non-conformities in good time and initiate specific counter measures where applicable
  34. Identify and minimize non-compliance costs
  35. Notify customers, management and the project team at an early stage in the event of any non-conformities
  36. Contract management incl. claim management
  37. With international (cross-border) projects: Synchronize the contract structure with the tax action plan and delegation concept
  38. Identify, drive, defend and reduce claims in good time
  39. Fulfill the contract and close the project in accordance with contractual and in-house regulations
  40. Negotiate with subcontractors / partners on the basis of defined requirements and enter into compensation agreements according to the customer contract
  41. Define and agree the strategy to enforce / reduce / defend claims with stakeholders
  42. Involve the project team in the process of identifying changes and claims
  43. Evaluate contracts for claim relevance, ensure that they are checked by legal experts
  44. Implement the strategy to enforce / reduce claims
  45. Opportunity and risk management
  46. Identify and assess all risk factors using the available risk assessment tools throughout the project
  47. Ensure that the results of risk surveys and compliance risk surveys are duly taken into consideration in contracts and calculations
  48. Elaborate suitable strategies for minimizing (eliminating, reducing) risks
  49. Ensure that all risks are identified and monitored (including Compliance)
  50. Identify opportunities for further business with the partner(s)
  51. Work together with line experts to exploit opportunities
  52. Communicate with internal contacts across organizational borders on opportunities for further improvements
  53. Identify / create additional opportunities from ongoing projects
  54. Ensure that risks are monitored in all project phases
  55. Identify, assess and implement all opportunities to improve results throughout the project
  56. Assess risks with respect to their impact on organizational units, define measures and ensure escalation in good time
  57. Stakeholder management
  58. Ensure efficient communication with all stakeholders
  59. Negotiate with stakeholders on requests for changes and incorporate them into contracts
  60. Elaborate and implement strategies to strengthen customer relations and market position
  61. Actively collect information on the customer and customer requirements / goals
  62. Involve the customer in decision-making and provide information to customers on a regular basis

Experience & Knowledge required.

Degree in Engineering or equivalent.

Comprehensive (deep and broad) professional know-how and experience in Project Management for International/multicultural teams railway projects.

Proven experience with Microsoft project / Microsoft project OnLine.

Technical knowledge of signaling railways systems: knowledge on Main Line and Mass Transit systems solutions and fundaments.

Knowledge of railway safety regulations: CENELEC 50126, CENELEC 50128 and CENELEC 50129.

5 years of experience in railway signalling company as a Project Manager.

Experience on Site works management.

Advance technical knowledge of Signalling interlocking, ERTMS, and Centralized Traffic Control systems. Main line and mass transit systems with different grades of automation.

Experience in global interaction with customers, partners, providers from multiple countries.

Experience on multinational/multicultural projects.

Proficient spoken and written English and Spanish.

Frequent travel required.
