Company Description
Ona Therapeutics is a biotech company located in Barcelona (Parc Científic de Barcelona, PCB), focused on developing first-in-class antibody drug conjugates (ADCs) for advanced cancer treatment. By partnering with leading academics and clinicians, we identify novel therapeutic targets from the unique biology of treatment refractory advanced cancer patients, to provide effective new treatments for patients with no remaining alternatives.
Scope
This is a full time position, on-site role for a Scientific Project Manager at Ona Therapeutics in Barcelona.
The scientific PM will support the Research Team in the discovery and preclinical development of novel anticancer therapies, engaging with multiple internal and external stakeholders and leading project management and data analytics activities.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a KTTO or within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical sector.
Role and Responsibilities
- Responsible for creating and maintaining integrated project development plans and timelines, for tracking and reporting project progress, and for preparing project related meeting minutes, presentations, reports and documents.
- Responsible for reviewing and providing strategic input to legal documents, like confidentiality agreements, material transfer agreements, consortium agreements and services / consultancy agreements.
- Supporting IP lawyers in managing Intellectual Property portfolio: contribute to the drafting patents, definition of prosecution strategy and running freedom to operate analysis.
- Responsible for managing collaborations with key stakeholders (mainly contract research organizations and collaborators from academia): build and maintain strong relationships and foster collaborative partnerships and alliances to drive the company's strategic initiatives.
- Responsible for managing non-dilutive funding.
- Lead the preparation of new applications: align and coordinate all internal and external activities to complete applications on time; write scientific / technical documents.
- Perform the scientific oversight of the project consortium: Accountable for the overall execution of the project plan. Integrate appropriate activities according to project objectives and timelines; ensure that reports, deliverables, and milestones are written and completed in a timely fashion and at high quality; keep track of agendas, actions and deadlines.
- Promote communication and collaboration among the partners.
- Integrate with ONA's scientific team, contributing to scientific discussions and knowledge sharing.
- Responsible for business intelligence and analysis:
- Develop a deep understanding of the biotech and pharma landscape, key competitors, and industry trends.
- Gather and analyze complex biological data, preclinical and clinical study outcomes, and regulatory data to extract meaningful insights.
- Collaborate with the different internal project teams to understand their data needs and assist in scientific decision-making. Build business cases to define challenges and opportunities for ONA and support strategic decision making.
- Formulate data-driven, define challenges and positioning opportunities aligned with the company's growth and objectives.
Qualifications and Skills Requirements
- The ideal candidate will hold a Ph.D. in a relevant scientific field (e.g., Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology).
- Proven experience performing Project Management and Business Intelligence activities.
- 2+ years’ experience in a knowledge and tech transfer office, biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience in Oncology as strong plus.
- Strong analytical, data analysis and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail. Proficiency in scientific data interpretation.
- Results oriented with the ability to prioritise plans into concrete action.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Proactive attitude in seeking out data and staying up to date with industry trends.
- Excellent communication and presentation, interpersonal skills, team player.
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
