Job Description

In this position, you will support the technical staff in the delivery of the IT Software scope of the automated material handling systems for our customers worldwide. Typically, these projects have a duration of one to two years. The project phases are specification, development and testing, commissioning, and integration support, which happens on the customer site.

You will lead various projects and initiatives where your effective communication and organization skills as well as your flexibility will be crucial.

Focusing on providing the best possible solution to the customer, you will also align and interact with other stakeholders from various Vanderlande departments, each focusing on their area of expertise aiming to a common goal of implementing a superb customer solution time after time.

You will be responsible for integration of the custom software modules with the standard platform software modules into a working customer solution. To achieve this goal, you will have to be proactive, process minded and be equipped with good people skills.

In addition, you will help with optimizing our processes for the department and help us in standardizing and revolutionizing our delivery. As a great communicator you will need to build up an internal network so that you can work efficiently, as well as support our development team during product/projects development. You will support and train other technical engineers within our team.

Your responsibilities

• The delivery of IT software projects within a multidisciplinary environment.
• Planning & tracking, change management, progress reporting and budget reporting. Risk and quality management will also be part of your daily job.
• Stakeholder management: You will strongly act as an intermediary; hence you need to bring stakeholders together from relevant disciplines.
• Solid communication, conflict resolution and project leadership.
• Focus on results: Having a pragmatic and hands-on attitude and being flexible while not losing sight of the department goals and interest.
• Integration of modern technologies and methodologies into the product offering.
• Verifying SW Components and create unit tests. Reviewing test documentation.
• Deploying, verifying, and supporting of components in both factory, and site environments (Commission developed systems at customer’s site).
• Ownership of related documentation and project deliverables.
• Analysing, troubleshooting, and fixing internally and externally encountered problems and requested changes.
• You will report to the IT Software Team Leader directly.

Your profile:

• Have a Higher Professional Education (HBO) qualification or University degree (WO).
• Experience in real time systems.
• Experience in software development with C# and Databases.
• Knowledge of SQL language.
• Knowledge of TCP / IP interfaces.
• Knowledge of design.
• Knowledge and experience with Angular.
• Knowledge and experience with .NET framework.
• Knowledge of Jira and Bitbucket.
• Good command of English (written and verbal). Good language skills in English (B2), both verbal and written, and a high level of Spanish (B2).
• A proven track record of successful implementation of an API.
• Have five years of experience in the execution of multi-disciplinary IT projects for commercial customers.
• Project management experience with focus on results.
• Experience in multidisciplinary environments.
• Experience with stakeholder management.
• Team player with ability to mediate between customer and the project team.
• Pragmatic and hands on attitude, as well process driven.
• Strong communicational skills and a creative approach to build professional client relationships.
• Ability to work within an international work environment.
• Be willing to travel worldwide (occasionally).
• Focused on the details and value delivery of assigned activities.

Highly regarded (optional):

• Driving license.
• Knowledge of networking and IT infrastructure.
• Knowledge of big data analysis and use of BI platforms.
• Experience within the logistic / production sector and material handling.
• Have an agile mindset, experience in a scrum as well as in a waterfall team is an advantage.
