We want to get on board in our Rolling Stock department in Madrid a Project Engineer (m/f/d) Software Development for Brake Control Systems.Your new role – challenging and future-oriented:
  1. Ensure safe and efficient stopping of vehicles by developing software for brake control systems.
  2. Control and monitor pneumatic braking systems and integrate them into rail vehicles.
  3. Document requirements for drive control software.
  4. Define software architecture and document it using modeling tools.
  5. Participate in software design implementation.
  6. Document system interfaces of the software.
  7. Design and describe required software components based on software requirements.
  8. Program control software using a graphic development tool (continuous flowchart).
  9. Integrate control unit software on the target platform and document functionality.
  10. Plan and monitor software tests (developer, component, and function tests).
  11. Ensure quality of software development process (verification).
  12. Validate completed software (EN 50657).
  13. Organize software configuration management.
  14. Create vehicle simulation as a test environment for software tests.
  15. Document development standards.
  16. Support integration of brake control functions in rail vehicles.
  17. Expand system knowledge regarding brake control of rail vehicles.
Your qualifications – solid and appropriate:
  1. Technical degree in electronic engineering, mechatronics, or a comparable field.
  2. Previous knowledge in rolling stock business.
  3. Experience in structured software development in brake control systems, preferably in the railroad industry (EN 50128/50657).
  4. Familiarity with electronic engineering and basics of braking technology in rail traffic.
  5. Proactive problem-solving approach.
  6. Confident communication in English (C1-level or equivalent); Spanish is valuable.
  7. Enjoy working collaboratively with colleagues from different departments and locations.
  8. Willingness to travel.
