Job Description:

We are hiring an experienced Product Development Manager with 10+ years of expertise in the food industry to lead our product development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background as a technologist/NPD specialist, with experience in managing product development projects from the lab to the factory, and overseeing the entire process of innovation, renovation, and new product launches. This role offers the opportunity to lead a team, renovate our product portfolio, and develop new products using proprietary technologies.

This is a pivotal role in our product innovation strategy, with future growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of 5 product development professionals, with the potential for future expansion.
• Provide mentorship and guidance, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment within the team.
• Drive the renovation of existing product portfolios and lead the launch of new products, ensuring alignment with company objectives and market needs.
• Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from lab-scale testing to full-scale factory production, ensuring quality and innovation at every stage.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, production, and sourcing, to align product development goals with broader business strategies.
• Project Management: Lead product development projects with minimal supervision, adapting to changing priorities and managing multiple tasks efficiently.
• Ensure that all projects meet quality, cost, and time constraints, and adhere to regulatory and safety standards.
• Industry Knowledge: Utilize a broad understanding of various product categories and technologies in the food industry. While experience in plant-based products is not required, a wide range of experience with different food technologies is preferred.
• Bring expertise gained from working in both large and small industries, ensuring flexibility in managing diverse projects.

Qualifications

• Experience: 10 years in product development within the food industry, with experience managing projects from lab to factory scale.
• Leadership: 5 years of proven experience in team management in a product development environment.
• Technical Expertise: Strong background as a product development technologist or specialist, with hands-on experience across various food technologies, from lab to industrial scale-up.
• Industry Exposure: Experience in both large-scale corporations and smaller, more agile companies is a benefit.
• Accountability and decision-making: key assets.
• Adaptability: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
• Languages: Professional proficiency in both English and Spanish is required.
• Any food technologies are relevant: Plant-based is not required.
