Job Description
You will be looking after our designs and engineering developments in the Integrated Program Team following the activities of the EPCM Contractor in Bilbao (Spain). As Process Engineer Lead, you have a vital role to play in getting the best out of our future Plants by following up the activities between different players across all Engineering phases up to Implementation and ensuring there are no gaps in between the engineering designs. Working with the latest technologies to improve on yesterday, you’ll be joining an energetic, multi-national team in a division with a view on the Future of ArcelorMittal.
What You Will Do:
- Management of the specialty disciplines to support the engineering development for designing, implementing, and optimizing steel making processes related to the DRI and EAF facilities.
- Ownership of the Process Engineering in the Technical design & standardization authority within the program, and management of technical internal and external stakeholders for designing and planning.
- Provide technical input for Engineering and Design deliverables including the coordination and production of discipline specific deliverables, equipment layout to optimize production efficiency, establishing safety procedures, and ensuring a safe work environment.
- Spot ways to improve engineering designs and troubleshoot manufacturing process issues to maintain operational effectiveness during all engineering phases for robust designs between the different parties (OEMs, EPCMs, Vendors, etc.), and conduct tests and monitor the performance of processes for future production.
- Represent AM from the process perspective during design and implementation phases with all external stakeholders (OEMs, EPCMs, etc.) to ensure safety designs are granted and considered during the design of the process packages in compliance with local and international Codes and Standards.
- Ensure all changes to processes are controlled through Management of Change and Safety Review procedures and support the process by providing advice, training, hazard review facilitation, and quality auditing of the process.
- Evaluate processes and equipment to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
- Lead and/or coordinate all internal alignments among all clusters for the Process Engineering activities during the design phases (FEED, Detailed Design), ensuring lessons learned are captured and communicated.
- Lead the EPCM contractor to comply with the requirements of quality, schedule, and budget for the process discipline and update management regularly.
- Participation in engineering reviews at the different phases of the project, like PFD and P&ID reviews, HAZID, HAZOP, and LOPA, among others.
What We’re Looking For:
- University degree in any engineering discipline; (8+ years of experience in Project development and 5+ years of experience as Process Engineering lead).
- Deep technical knowledge of steel making processes.
- Ability to work in an international team and flexibility to travel to OEM, EPCM, vendors, or cluster locations.
