Principal Technical Product Manager, Cimpress Technology - Spain or Germany Remote

At Cimpress Technology, we’re transforming the way businesses manage and model customized, made-to-order products at scale. Our SaaS Product Information Management platform powers the complex data, configuration logic, and workflows that enable mass customization of products such as business cards, packaging, apparel, and promotional goods.

We’re building the foundational layer - a sophisticated API-driven platform that can navigate and orchestrate billions of product permutations, from simple business cards to highly personalized apparel and retail packaging. This is not a standard Product Information Management system, nor is the foundation which it is built upon. The platform is a deeply technical data and rules engine, designed to handle extreme complexity in product data, customization rules, artwork automation, and manufacturing requirements.

What You Will Do

• Define and execute the product strategy for the core platform layer, ensuring scalability, performance, and developer usability.
• Translate high-level customer needs into extensible platform features.
• Collaborate deeply with engineering, architecture, and infrastructure teams to ensure robust, secure, and resilient design choices.
• Partner with downstream product teams to ensure platform capabilities meet end-to-end workflow and interface needs.
• Define and track KPIs for platform adoption, performance, and uptime; champion technical excellence and service reliability.

Your Qualifications

• 8+ years of product management experience, including at least 3+ years focused on technical platform or infrastructure teams.
• Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience in software engineering or deeply technical product management roles that demonstrate a strong command of software systems and architecture.
• Strong background in API design, system architecture, and developer-facing products.
• A proven ability to translate complex customer challenges into clear, scalable technology solutions, and to communicate fluently with both engineers and business stakeholders in their language.
• Comfortable leading discussions with senior engineers and making tradeoffs between scalability, performance, and usability.
• Passion for working on complex problems involving variable data, asynchronous workflows, and large-scale automation.
• Strong cross-functional skills — able to translate technical details for executive stakeholders, and vice versa.

Nice to Have

• Deep understanding of product data modeling, including hierarchical taxonomies, variant logic, and rule-based configuration systems.
• Experience in the mass customization, print-on-demand, or configurable commerce space is a major plus.
• Hands-on familiarity with tools like Postman, Swagger / OpenAPI, SQL, and modern cloud services (AWS, GCP, etc.).
