Vodafone is embarking on a global transformation of data & analytics leveraging innovative capabilities of google cloud and are looking for an experienced data transformation lead to play a key role.

The scope of this role is to deliver network and application side services for the maintenance of the PPE lab in Malaga. This engineer will be the SPoC for on-site activities for PPE lab infrastructure in Malaga and will input the design team on technical feasibility, high and low level design in Networking platforms installed in that lab to serve PPE labs function cross-functionally.

As a Software Engineer in Testing Trainee, you´ll have the opportunity to learn and apply your knowledge by:

• Helping to carry out hardware installation, staging and maintenance of network, computing and storage devices from multiple vendors
• Learn to provide SPoC for secure access to the lab for other co-workers and for vendors
• Participate in assembling, installing, and maintaining cabling to the documented standards
• Work alongside teams across multiple locations to build and maintain the physical lab
• Regular visual inspection of devices in the lab and fix issues coordinating with the extended lab team/vendors as required
• Actively participate in fault finding sessions with internal VF teams and vendor support teams
• Contribute to the operation processes for maintenance of lab to provide premium lab services to the stakeholders keeping inventory up to date
• Support to check backups and ensure they are working, upgrade devices locally, to make sure they are running on the latest firmware
• Act as point of contact to take delivery and track the devices in inventory tools
• Provide input into design activities in relation to space, power, cooling, location
• Provide input into purchase for labs.
• Provide SPoC for the receipt and return of orders
• Provide on-site support for the installation and patching of equipment, configuration activities required post-install and moves and changes required within the lab
• Provide support from onsite to test team in testing activity
• Physical inspection of racks and devices
• Resolution of tasks opened in the Vodafone Tools (Jira or similar) related to the activities in the above list
• Update of all documentation associated with Lab Site Survey, hardware inventories and all related documentation with onsite processes
• Participation in PPE internal lab projects, providing special assistance to the onsite activities workstream with special attention to End of Life initiatives

Ideally you have the following skills:

• Network engineering background.
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification level in Routing and Switching and/or Security and/or Data Centre
  • Juniper JNCIP-ENT and/or JNCIP-SEC and/or JCIP-SP.
  • VCP Virtualization, VMware, Hyper-V, KVM
• Vendor or technical qualifications are advantageous:
  • Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation
  • Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) by ISC2 desirable.
  • Security+ certification offered by CompTIA desirable.
  • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification level in Routing and Switching
  • Juniper JNCIE-ENT or JNCIP-SEC.
  • ISO certified leader (ISO22301 or ISO27001) (desirable)
  • vMware certifications:
• AWS cloud management platform.
• Cloud computing: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform.
• Containers: Docker, Kubernetes.
• Networks: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN.
• Security: firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN.
