Offer Description

A postdoctoral position is available in Dr. Ruth Pérez’s group at the Centro de Investigaciones

The CIB Margarita Salas, part of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), is a leading

multidisciplinary research institute in Madrid, Spain. Internationally recognized for its excellence in

molecular biology, biomedicine, and biotechnology, it fosters cutting-edge science and innovation at

the interface of biology and health.

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the ERC Chem2Sense project. The candidate will

work on the synthesis of modified oligonucleotide sequences as synthetic antibodies in the context of

templated dynamic combinatorial chemistry.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Synthesize modified oligonucleotides using solid-phase and solution-phase.
2. Design and set up dynamic combinatorial libraries.
3. Develop innovative strategies combining hybrid and modular nucleic acid derivatives.
4. Collaborate with machine learning researchers to analyze sequencing data.
5. Contribute to scientific publications and report writing.

Profile:

1. PhD in Chemistry with a strong focus on Organic Chemistry, Supramolecular Chemistry, Synthetic Chemical Biology, or a related field.
2. Solid background in synthetic chemistry.
3. Familiarity with biological techniques (preferred).
4. High-level English communication skills.
5. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative research environment.
