EY’s Platform Solutions and Intelligence (PSI) team's design and implement technology solutions that helps companies managing the ever-increasing requirements for disclosing information to the public, authorities, and other stakeholders. This may be in the area of taxation, ESG or management reporting, and our clients are some of Europe’s largest multinationals across all industries.

We are therefore seeking Senior Consultants across all our locations to support our cross-competency teams. You will be an important piece to bridge the gap between finance and IT assisting our clients through the journey from problem definition through design to implementation of technology solutions. As a functional consultant you will be working on the business side of a project, designing new processes and solutions in close cooperation with our IT technical people and the client.

With ever-increasing regulations or reporting requirements business departments must gather, organize, and analyze more data than ever before. The data must be collected from a variety of systems and departments throughout an organization, and to succeed companies therefore require changes to both processes and systems. This is what we deliver in PSI – end-to-end solutions to complex business challenges. Typical use cases are specialized management reporting, sustainability reporting and various tax reporting cases such as Global minimum taxation (BEPS), transfer pricing, tax accounting and VAT analytics.

We are looking for people with background in Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), business consulting or finance and accounting. You will be working in an interdisciplinary and dynamic environment, side-by-side with IT developers and architects, subject matter experts and the client’s own project teams.

Preferred locations for this position are Spain, Italy, Germany, and Norway. Highly qualified applicants from other locations will still be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Design effective solutions with an emphasis on improving processes and efficiency, reducing risk and improving decision making - this includes drafting user requirements, process mappings, excel modelling, Data flows diagrams, functional and technical design, user story definition, among other documents depending on the deployment methodologies.
• Implement these solutions by collaborating in design, configuration, development implementation, testing, preparing test scripts, training, and project management activities.
• Interact with clients (users and key stakeholders) to understand their needs and priorities.
• Support our team of Technology experts in implementation of solutions in SAP, Microsoft, and other technologies.
• Involvement in the development of new innovative services and turnkey solutions for clients.
• Manage clients and teams located in multiple locations.

Qualification & Experience Required

• Bachelor’s / master’s degree in Accounting / Tax / Business / Economics and / or software engineering / Information Technology / MBA / MCA or equivalent experience.
• A combination of education and experience to bridge the gap between finance and IT is preferred.
• An overall 2-6 years’ work experience that includes : Technology Project Implementation and / or Process improvement project (preferably in the finance function planning, consolidation, tax or ESG), and / or Inhouse reporting responsibility for Finance / Accounting (consolidation, product / service costing, controlling, management reporting) and / or Tax (Transfer Pricing, tax accounting, tax provisioning, CbCR, BEPS Pillar 2).
• Technical knowledge / understanding / experience in one or more of the following technologies is preferred : SAP (SAP Build, CAP, SAP PaPM / SAP BW / SAP HANA / SAP BPC / SAP Analytics Cloud / SAP FI / CO / SAP Datasphere), Microsoft PowerApps / Azure, Other EPM software, Gen AI.
• Having a consultant mindset; problem-solver, professional, reliable, curious and analytic in addition to having good communication and interpersonal skills and being able to work under pressure.
• Strong team-focus and a positive attitude.
• Business English and a plus to speak additional EU language (especially German, French, Spanish).
