Performance Architect

Do you thrive on tackling complex performance challenges and ensuring systems operate at peak efficiency? At Playnetic, we need a seasoned professional who can deliver robust performance and observability across high-transaction iGaming platforms.

The Opportunity

As our Performance Architect, you'll own the performance strategy for our platforms, ensuring maximum stability, low latency, and scalability. Reporting directly to our Director of Architecture, you'll work alongside cross-functional teams to implement rigorous performance standards and define company-wide best practices.

What You'll Do

1. Strategize & Optimize: Develop and execute a comprehensive performance improvement plan that balances short-term fixes with long-term system evolution.
2. Drive Observability: Leverage Dynatrace to design and implement custom metrics, dashboards, and alerts that provide deep insights into system performance.
3. Load Testing & Validation: Design and run load testing scenarios that accurately simulate high-transaction conditions, ensuring system resilience under pressure.
4. Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with developers, operations, and the service reliability engineering team to identify bottlenecks and integrate performance solutions seamlessly.
5. Set Benchmarks: Establish and enforce performance standards that guide developing and maintaining scalable, high-performing systems.

Who You Are

1. Experienced: You have 8+ years in performance engineering (with 10+ years in software development), ideally within high-transaction or iGaming environments.
2. Technically Proficient: You're an expert with Dynatrace and load testing tools (e.g., JMeter), and you have a strong background in .NET, Java, AWS, Kubernetes, and microservices architectures.
3. Collaborative: Your communication skills allow you to work effectively with cross-functional teams, influencing performance best practices across the board.
4. Analytical & Methodical: You approach challenges with a data-driven mindset, ensuring that every optimisation is measurable and impactful.
5. Fluent & Adaptive: You're fluent in English and have experience working in remote teams within EU timezones.

The Interview Process

1. Recruiter Call: An initial discussion to understand your background, cover the role in more detail, and answer any questions.
2. Technical Discussion: A deep dive with our Director of Architecture to explore your expertise and approach.
3. Final Round: A session with our CTO and Director of Platform Engineering to discuss how you can shape our performance strategy.
