Are you interested in how real-world economic theory can be applied in the world of gaming? This is an opportunity for you to design, analyze and manage the economy for top grossing apps and to be a key player in the game economy department within Product Madness. As a Junior Game Economist, you will be essential to the success of our games. You will work closely with our product and game-ops teams to design and balance the economy of our games and to provide the teams with actionable insights. In parallel to this, you will also be working in the game economy department, helping to build the craft of game economy in the company; supporting long term strategy, helping to build and evaluate top class tooling to continuously improve our ways of working.


What You'll Do

Day to Day:

  1. Design, configure, monitor and optimize the economy of features and events in one or more of Product Madness games. This will include defining the pricing of purchasable items and collectibles.
  2. Support the product, game ops and data teams with the understanding of the game economy to generate growth and a positive player experience.
  3. Explore segmentation of the players based on behavioral theories and data to recommend new and useful segments to use for our game operations and feature design.
  4. Drive game economy best practices and knowledge sharing throughout the company, working with other Game Economy Managers to build this knowledge capital.

What We're Looking For

Requirements:

  1. Academic background in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Engineering or another quantitative field.
  2. An advanced degree in Economics, Finance, or in another quantitative field - an advantage.
  3. Experience in working in the field of economics (outside gaming) – an advantage.
  4. Passionate about quantitative analysis and can generate actionable business insights.
  5. Knowledge in SQL – an advantage.
  6. Intermediate Python or R – an advantage.

  1. Work collaboratively with other individuals and teams.
  2. Good communication skills.
  3. Capable of presenting insights and ideas in a clear and concise way to large groups.
  4. Ability to motivate others into action.
  5. Interested in the mobile games industry or similarly sophisticated customer-facing digital businesses.
