‘OKU’ is derived from the Japanese spiritual and architectural concept meaning ‘inner space’. OKU Hotels is a boutique collection of soulfully-curated, laid-back luxury hotels, created for the modern traveler. Meticulously designed sanctuaries are conceived with barefoot luxury, local connections, and slow living at heart.

OKU Hotels is headquartered in London, with current properties operating in Ibiza and Kos, and a confirmed pipeline of hotels set to open in Turkey, Spain, and the Maldives. OKU is targeting to own and/or operate a collection of over ten exquisite properties in new and captivating destinations worldwide over the next five years.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE

  1. Oversee the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
  2. Lead and inspire the restaurant team, providing guidance, training, and support.
  3. Welcome and seat guests, ensuring a personalized and memorable dining experience.
  4. Manage reservations and optimize table allocation to maximize restaurant efficiency.
  5. Ensure high standards of service, presentation, and cleanliness are consistently maintained.
  6. Resolve guest issues and complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  7. Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure seamless communication and timely service.
  8. Monitor and manage restaurant inventory and supplies.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  1. Passion for hospitality and a proven track record of delivering exceptional dining experiences, representing the OKU philosophy.
  2. Minimum 2 years of experience as a Restaurant Maitre in a high-end restaurant or luxury hotel.
  3. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a people-first mindset.
  4. In-depth knowledge of food and beverage, including wine and spirits.
  5. Fluency in English and Spanish (additional languages are a plus).
  6. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

  2. Ability to handle guest interactions and staff management with integrity and discretion.

TECHNICAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  1. Knowledge of restaurant operations and fine dining service standards.
  2. Experience with reservation systems and POS systems.
  3. Ability to manage and train staff effectively.
  4. Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
  5. Ability to create and maintain a positive and professional work environment.
