Network Engineer/ Project Management Consultant

Your Responsibilities

1. Planning, implementation, configuration and operational support of networks (Cisco, LAN/WLAN) and firewall systems (Checkpoint, Cisco), as well as the WAN connection of all Drees & Sommer locations and project locations of external clients.
2. Your contribution is required to develop innovative network strategies, philosophies and criteria to secure continuous and highly available operation.
3. In this role you serve as Project Management Consultant and as a contact for 2nd level support issues.
4. Requirements regarding communication services, recovery, network and cyber-security, you will ensure by monitoring and improving network performance.
5. Perform network analysis and diagnostics as needed to resolve network issues.
6. You apply network management system tools to determine network load and model performance statistics.
7. You enjoy conceptualizing, designing, and implementing network infrastructure projects.
8. You like to work in a distributed Team with colleagues in Germany.

Your profile

1. Bachelor in the field of computer science, successfully completed IT training, or comparable. We also welcome career changers with a high affinity for IT and at least 3 years of professional experience.
2. Sound professional experience in the field of network infrastructure: routing, switching, firewalling, IDS and profound knowledge with Microsoft Server and Linux operating systems.
3. Project management experience.
4. Experience with Cisco products.
5. Cisco certification would be an advantage.
6. Experience with SIEM, VoIP/SIP telephony, UC systems are an advantage.
7. Analytical thinking, act process-oriented, independent and structured worker, you come with a distinctive customer orientation.
8. Very good communication skills and team spirit.
9. Willingness to travel to client locations.
10. Fluent written and oral English skills.
