Join Vela Software, an operating group of Constellation Software, to work in our Mergers & Acquisition (M&A) Team. As a key member of our team, you will have an opportunity to drive all stages of the M&A process.

Responsibilities:

1. Investment Execution / Analysis (75%):
   Information gathering and Q&A with prospect companies
   Business quality assessments of prospect companies
   Detailed bottom-up, multi-scenario financial modelling
   Due diligence, including reviewing and assessing financial statements, financial history by customer, and detailed A/R and WIP analysis
   Coordination of the broader due diligence process across multiple workstreams, including leading due diligence meetings with target companies, and management of the overall process internally through maintaining ongoing communication and collaboration with several stakeholders (HR, Legal, Tax, IT, Finance, etc.)
   Market, competition, and industry risk / opportunity research and analysis
   Preparing business summaries, investment memos, model analysis charts and commentaries
   Preparation of Indicative Offers and Letters of Intent
2. M&A Business Development (25%):
   Manage and grow our M&A prospect database by identifying small, medium, and large sized software companies that meet our acquisition criteria
   Demonstrate the ability to create genuine relationships with high level contacts who are interested in continuing the conversation
   Act as an advocate for our portfolio and use your best efforts to promote the value our business can bring

Ideal Candidate:
3-5 years of experience at a top-tier accounting firm, investment bank or private equity firm, with preference given to those who have attained an ACA/CPA (or equivalent), CFA or CBV designation;
Excellent academic performance in a business, finance, economics or accounting-related degree, and/or in obtaining a professional designation;
Strong Excel skills and proficiency in building complex financial models;
Capable of translating raw/imperfect data into thoughtful analysis that will be delivered to senior executives;
High quality decision making and problem solving skills, with the ability to grasp new and complex concepts quickly;
Strong time management skills and ability to work on several acquisition opportunities simultaneously;
Advanced verbal and written communication skills with the confidence and polish to speak with business owners, senior executives and external professional advisors;
A strong understanding of technology and the software industry is an asset.

Compensation:

Location:
Remote Europe. Some international travel required.
