Job Purpose: RCs will play an important role in government linkages at the sub-state level. They will support specific enterprises as well as government coordination and monitoring in their responsible districts.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Mapping the availability of Non-Timber Forest Produce (NTFP) in the area with support from SRLM and FIAs and estimating the people dependent on the NTFP.
- Understanding the value chain from production/availability, development, sustainability, harvesting, value addition, and marketing to identify gaps.
- Providing support in value addition, processing, and marketing of the NTFP.
- Establishing and strengthening collective enterprises in the NTFP.
- Exploring possibilities of introducing technology for processing and value addition.
- Identifying better markets/private sector players for marketing.
- Developing suitable models of backyard poultry and goatery to the local context.
- Developing plans, promoting, and strengthening poultry and goatery clusters, bringing a business approach into backyard poultry and goatery.
- Resource mobilization from schemes/government programs for facilitating more investment into goatery and poultry.
- Developing a cadre of service providers for health care, feed management, and marketing facilities for women engaged in poultry and goatery on a sustainable basis.
- Establishing community enterprises with revenue models like livestock resource centers/goat resource centers/poultry cooperatives for providing services (health care, input supply, and output marketing).
- Promoting small scale household/group enterprises for feed preparation/manufacturing.
- Facilitating linkages with technical service providers like veterinary universities and experts.
Educational Qualifications:
- Professional qualification in relevant areas or PG in any relevant area.
- At least 5 years of experience in the relevant enterprise sector.
- Hands-on experience in a similar enterprise in personal or private business or non-profit.
- Experience in developing marketing channels (direct, retail, wholesalers, online, reselling, franchising, etc.) is a must.
Preferred:
- Experience in rural development projects.
- Experience working with women SHGs and SHG federations.
- Adequate computer skills and proficiency in English.
- Willingness to travel extensively in rural areas and stay in remote villages.
- Ability to interact easily with rural communities.
- Business planning, product knowledge, and marketing skills.
