EU - Spain : Marketing Manager

About the role :

STERRY Limited is looking for a Marketing Manager focusing on Europe (particularly Germany, France, Spain, and Italy) in a remote setup. Several key qualifications and skills are essential to ensure success in managing diverse markets and working across various cultures.

Qualifications :

  • Educational Background :
    • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
    • A Master's degree (optional) in International Marketing, Digital Marketing, or Business Administration could be an advantage.
  • Experience :
    • Proven experience in marketing management, particularly in a digital marketing agency environment.
    • Experience in international markets or with clients in Germany, France, Spain, Italy, or Europe. Understanding cultural nuances is crucial.
    • Experience working in a remote or distributed team is highly desirable.
    • Track record of campaign success in various marketing channels (social media, SEO, PPC, email, content marketing, etc.) within the European context.
    • Project management experience managing multi-channel, multi-market campaigns simultaneously.
  • Language Skills :
    • Fluency in English is essential as it’s the global business language.
    • Fluency or advanced proficiency in German, French, Spanish, or Italian is highly advantageous (depending on the region the agency focuses on).
    • Understanding the local marketing and consumer trends in these countries will be a significant plus.
  • Technical & Digital Marketing Skills :
    • Digital Marketing Expertise: Proficiency with digital marketing strategies and tools like SEO, SEM (Google Ads), content marketing, social media, affiliate marketing, and influencer marketing.
    • Experience with marketing automation tools (e.g., HubSpot, Marketo, Mailchimp, etc.).
    • Familiarity with analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, SEMrush, Tableau, etc.) to track KPIs, manage data, and optimize campaigns.
    • Content creation and strategy, including understanding of the types of content that perform well across different European markets.
  • Cultural Understanding :
    • Deep understanding of local consumer behavior in the target countries (Germany, France, Spain, Italy) and the ability to tailor strategies to each market's unique culture.
    • Sensitivity to local regulations around data protection (e.g., GDPR) and advertising standards in each country.
    • Ability to localize marketing campaigns in terms of language, imagery, tone, and channel selection for specific European countries.
  • Leadership & Communication Skills :
    • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) to collaborate effectively with clients, internal teams, and external partners.
    • Leadership qualities to manage, inspire, and mentor remote teams.
    • Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams (design, content, development, sales) in a remote environment.
  • Strategy & Analytical Skills :
    • Strategic thinking : Ability to design and implement effective marketing strategies that align with business goals and objectives.
    • Strong analytical mindset to interpret data and adjust campaigns for optimal performance.
    • Experience in budget management, ensuring the optimal allocation of resources across markets and campaigns.
  • Adaptability & Flexibility :
    • Ability to work across different time zones, adapting to the needs of teams and clients in multiple regions.
    • Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to pivot strategies as needed in a dynamic, remote working environment.
  • Client Relationship Management :
    • Strong ability to build and manage client relationships, ensuring client satisfaction and retention.
    • Experience in client presentations and reporting results in a clear, concise manner.
    • Proactive in client communications, providing strategic recommendations based on market trends and campaign performance.
  • Tools and Platforms Proficiency :
    • Familiarity with CRM platforms (Salesforce, Pipedrive) to track client communications and sales activities.
    • Knowledge of ad management platforms (Google Ads, Facebook Ads Manager, LinkedIn Ads, etc.) for campaign execution.
  • Professional Certifications (Optional, but can add value) :
    • Google Ads and Google Analytics Certification.
    • HubSpot Inbound Marketing or Content Marketing Certification.
    • Facebook Blueprint Certification (for social media marketing).
    • PPC or SEO certifications (e.g., from SEMrush or Moz).
  • Soft Skills :
    • Problem-solving skills to address challenges creatively.
    • Time management and self-discipline to work efficiently in a remote environment.
    • A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset that embraces new opportunities and challenges in the dynamic marketing landscape.
  • Other Qualifications :
    • Familiarity with e-commerce platforms (Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento) if your agency has clients in the e-commerce space.
    • Understanding of B2B marketing and ABM (Account-Based Marketing) strategies if your agency targets business clients.
    • A network of local partners or influencers in the target markets could also be valuable.
