Lead Engineer – Product, Infrastructure & AI

behyve is an exclusive, cutting-edge booking platform redefining lifestyle and wellness bookings through contact recommendations. We’re looking for a Lead Engineer who is hands-on, actively coding, and ready to build our tech stack while building up and managing internal and external teams. This is a freelance role initially, with the potential to transition into a full-time leadership position with equity options after the first year.

This role is designed for a senior engineer looking to transition into a Head of Engineering or CTO role as we scale

• Hands-on Development & Leadership – You won’t just manage; you’ll actively code and build alongside the team.
• System Reconfiguration & Optimization – Improve our existing NestJS/TypeScript backend, Angular frontend, and AWS/Firebase infrastructure for scalability and efficiency.
• AI & Automation Integration – You’ll explore AI-driven features for automation, personalisation, and predictive analytics—experience with LLMs, recommendation systems, or automation frameworks is a plus.
• Cloud & DevOps Strategy – Optimize our AWS-based architecture for cost-effectiveness, reliability, and security.
• Frontend & Backend Development – Lead Angular (dashboard) and NestJS (backend) development, with an understanding of native iOS (Swift) and Android (Java).
• Team Building & Recruitment – You will define hiring needs, participate in technical interviews, and help build a high-performance engineering team as we scale.
• Your first key challenges: (1) optimising our NestJS/TypeScript backend for scalability, (2) refining our AWS/Firebase infrastructure, and (3) improving performance of our Angular dashboard.

We're looking for a full-stack leader with expertise in:

TypeScript & NestJS – Core backend framework.

AWS Services – Compute, SES (Email), SNS/Pinpoint (SMS), S3 (Storage).

Firebase Firestore – Real-time chat and data synchronization.

Angular (TypeScript) – Web-based admin dashboard.

Native iOS (Swift) & Android (Java) – Understanding of mobile app architecture.

Experience with AI/ML for automation and optimization is a big plus.

Hands-on Engineer – You actively code while leading the technical vision.
