JOB POSITION: PHD SENIOR RESEARCHER (I-PI 137-24)
Applications are invited by the University of Alicante President for an open-ended contractual position as a PhD senior researcher to collaborate with the funded line of research “Gender-based violence and public health”. Reference: I-PI 137-24.
Project ISEDA, 101073922 funded by European Union.
Pursuant to the provisions on the regulations governing calls for applications of research staff to cover a contractual research position, the University of Alicante calls for applications in accordance with the following terms:
First. Number of job vacancies and employment conditions of the contract:
- Number of job vacancies: one.
- Job position: PhD Senior Researcher.
- Funded line of research: “Gender-based violence and public health”.
- Working hours: 37.5 hours/week in morning/afternoon sessions.
- Remuneration: €2,147.17 gross/monthly (plus extra payments in accordance with current regulations).
In accordance with the provisions of the agreement of the Governing Council of 27 January 2022, it is hereby stated that there is no under-representation of either gender in the category of PhD Senior researcher.
Second. First project in which the successful applicant will collaborate.
- Name of the project: Innovative solutions to eliminate domestic abuse.
- Reference: ISEDA, 101073922.
- Funding agency: European Union.
- Dept. / Institute: Department of Community Nursing, Preventive Medicine and Public Health.
- Tasks to be carried out: The successful applicant will carry out research tasks with full autonomy and authority, as well as coordination tasks and tasks for the dissemination of results, related to the following:
- Design and implementation of a training programme on gender-based violence.
- Communication with other research groups involved in the project (in English).
- Design and implementation of other actions included in the project (secondary schools, campaigns, social media).
- Bibliographic search, qualitative analysis, conduct of interviews with victims of violence and other tasks related to writing manuscripts for the project.
- Scientific writing of technical reports (in English) for assessments by the European Commission.
Third. Job profile.
Preference will be given to those with:
- Experience and training: related to the tasks listed in the second section of this call and to gender-based violence and its prevention; promotion of gender equality in interpersonal relationships; epidemiological analysis and systematic review.
- English language: Only levels higher than that required in the fourth section of the call will be considered.
- Qualification:
- Official Master's degree in Public Health (Spanish MECES level 3 or EQF level 7) or any other official Master's degree with equivalent content.
- PhD programme related to the field of Health Sciences or Gender Studies (Spanish MECES level 4 or EQF level 8).
Fourth. Requirements for applicants.
Compliance with the requirements listed below must always refer to the date of expiry of the deadline for the submission of applications and must be maintained until the date of entering into the contract. Applicants must:
- Hold or be in the process of obtaining a PhD degree (Spanish MECES level 4 or EQF level 8).
- Hold or be in the process of obtaining an undergraduate degree in Sociology (Spanish MECES level 2 or EQF level 6) plus an official Master's degree in Public Health (Spanish MECES level 3 or EQF level 7) or any other official Master's degree with equivalent content.
- Language: C1 level of English.
- Be a Spanish national or be in one of the situations listed in article 57 of Royal Legislative Decree 5/2015, of 30 October, which approves the revised text of the Act on the Basic Statute of Public Employees.
- Be at least 16 years of age and not exceed the maximum compulsory retirement age.
- Possess the physical and mental capacities and aptitudes that are necessary for the performance of the corresponding functions or tasks.
- Not have been dismissed by disciplinary proceedings from the service of any of the Public Administrations.
