The Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Cardiovasculares Carlos III (F.S.P.) CNIC has been conceived to develop research of excellence, competitive and of international relevance in relation to cardiovascular diseases. The CNIC has a research center of 24,000 m2, located in Madrid, with more than 6,000 m2 for laboratories equipped with a state-of-the-art infrastructure and equipment.

Functions:

• To develop tools for the integration of clinical and molecular data in order to implement digital twins for cardiovascular research
• To implement tools for visualization of simulated results from digital twin models

The training program in AI and Big Data for Cardiovascular Health (cardiotrAIning) will involve theoretical and practical courses by prominent researchers in the field, placements in national and international collaborating institutions and the work in a research line related to the use of AI to improve the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of CV disease.

This grant/contract is funded by the European NextGenerationEU funds in the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan through the Talent Attraction and Retention Programs initiative.

Mandatory Requirements:

• To be in possession of a PhD degree at the time of formalizing the contract.
• To be in possession of a Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Data Science, Engineering or a similar qualification.

Valuable Requirements:

• C1. Experience and expertise in omics data analysis.
• C2. Experience working in a high-performance computing cluster.
• C3. Experience and knowledge in scripting languages, such as R and Python
• C4. Experience in the development of front-end tools and mobile applications.
• C5. Experience with artificial intelligence algorithms.

Recruitment Plan:

The RESOLUTION OF THE SECRETARIAT OF STATE FOR PUBLIC FUNCTION APPROVING THE COMMON ACTION CRITERIA FOR THE RECRUITMENT PROCESSES IN THE STATE PUBLIC SECTOR ENTITIES of April 11, 2022, set forth in point 6.1 that “Unless a specific regulation establishes a merit-based recruitment system (concurso), the competition (concurso-oposición) must be the recruitment system.”

In CNIC, the specific regulations approved by the Foundation's board of trustees establish a merit-based recruitment system (concurso) including a personal interview.

At least the 3 candidates with the highest score, as long as they reach the minimum of 50 points as a sum of criteria (C1‐C5) will be interviewed. The candidate with the highest score will be hired given the total score (C1-C6) is higher than 65 points.

C5 - Experience with artificial intelligence algorithms (Experience will be assessed on a time/specialty ratio basis). - 10%
