At Claire Joster, we are collaborating with PharmaMar, a leading biotechnology company dedicated to developing innovative drugs from marine resources, committed to improving global health through science and innovation.
We are currently looking for a Junior Bioinformatician Analyst to join our team. The main mission of this role will consist of contributing to the design and implementation of bioinformatics strategies for analyzing large-scale cancer datasets, ensuring efficient data processing, integration, and interpretation to support research and development in pharmacogenomics and cell biology.
Responsibilities:
- Design data analysis strategies for the exploration of large cancer data sets within the bioinformatics team of the pharmacogenomics and cell biology department (R&D).
- Development and maintenance of computational workflows for multi-omics data processing and integration.
- Implementation of bioinformatics workflows for fast data recovery, quality control, visualization, and assessment.
- OMICs data processing (DNA-seq, RNA-seq, proteomics…), QC assessment, filtering, processing and interpretation.
- Coordination with R&D units and IT department to maintain bioinformatics infrastructure for optimal data processing and longtime data storage and backup.
- Statistical analysis of molecular results related to clinical outcomes.
- Give support to R&D colleagues on optimal data analyses and bioinformatics approaches.
- Presentation of results, writing of internal reports and scientific communications.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- BSc / MSc in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Data Science, Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science or related fields.
- Cancer genomics and cancer biology knowledge.
- Proficient with programming languages such as R or Python.
- Experience implementing bioinformatic pipelines for data analysis and visualization.
- Experience with public repositories (-omic data download, management, annotations…).
- Experience implementing local databases for sample and molecular data management.
- Clinical statistics knowledge.
- Good reporting, presentation and communication skills, being able to explain complex concepts to colleagues at all levels.
- Good interpersonal abilities and self-organization skills.
- Comfortable in an agile and collaborative interdisciplinary working environment.
- Fluent in English.
- 1 year of hands-on experience in applying advanced bioinformatics and data science methods to the field of cancer or biomedical research.
