As the Head of Global Logistics & Distribution, you will have a key role in shaping the future of our supply chain strategy across multiple brands, business units, and geographies. This leadership position will require both strategic vision and operational expertise to implement a customer-obsessed, efficient, and cost-effective global logistics network.

Job Purpose:

The Head of Global Logistics & Distribution will drive the End-to-End logistics and distribution strategy for Straumann Group, ensuring a seamless process that reflects our core belief in customer obsession. This includes managing intercompany freight, logistics control towers, global and regional warehousing, last-mile distribution, and standardizing processes across regions. You will be tasked with the transformation of our logistics & distribution networks, including governance, organization, physical network optimization, and the digital tools required for a cutting-edge E2E logistics process.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Lead Transformation: Drive the global logistics & distribution transformation, engaging the entire organization from design to implementation of lean, customer-focused logistics flows.
• Logistics Control Tower: Design and implement a logistics control tower, including systems, processes, and manpower, to ensure efficient distribution across all brands and technologies.
• Network Design: Define and optimize the global and regional logistics network (warehouses, distribution centers) to improve service and reduce costs.
• Operational Excellence: Oversee and continuously improve the daily execution of warehouse and logistics operations. Monitor and report logistics performance metrics.
• Process Ownership: Define and standardize global logistics and distribution processes in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, ensuring compliance and efficiency across all regions.
• Customs & Trade Compliance: Manage and enhance global and regional customs and trade compliance practices across all markets.
• Digitalization: Lead the digitalization of global logistics, from initial transformation to ongoing improvements, ensuring the efficient use of technology across the organization.
• Develop Leadership: Inspire and cultivate logistics leaders within the organization, fostering a community of experts and practitioners.
• Logistics Partnerships: Establish strong partnerships with third-party logistics providers, including 3PL and forwarders, to develop the logistics infrastructure to meet evolving customer needs.

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

• Master’s degree in supply chain, engineering, commercial, or business administration.
• 10+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, distribution, or warehouse management.
• Proven experience in managing large-scale logistics transformations in global, fast-paced environments.
• Experience across multiple industries (including medical device) and multi-company settings.
• Familiarity with supply chain systems and digital solutions.
• Fluent in English (both spoken and written); proficiency in additional languages (German, French, Spanish, Portuguese) is a plus.
• Global experience with the ability to work across different geographies and cultures.
• Experience with Lean methodologies and operational excellence.
