As an experienced Manager, you will take pride in running an outstanding operation and be an ambassador for WHSmith!

  • You will be responsible for driving sales and managing the costs to maximize the profitability of your store - you’ll treat the business as your own.
  • Inspire the team to ensure every customer has a brilliant experience, so wherever our customers are going, you can be sure they will always be happy to come back to our stores.
  • Recruit and retain your team, making WHSmith the employer of choice in your market.
  • Coach, guide, and create a culture of learning, support, and recognition - spotting opportunities for the development of personal skills, product knowledge, and self-awareness to support our colleagues in an environment where everyone feels valued and welcome.
  • Create a sense of pride within the store to ensure both colleagues and customer facilities are of a great standard, and that we are operating safely and legally.

What experience do I need?

Joining WHSmith as a Store Manager, it would be great to have Retail or Hospitality experience – but what is just as important is that you are in your element when inspiring a team! You lead by example, showing your team what great always looks like. With this approach, you’ll win the respect of staff at every level, getting the best from each individual and encouraging them to develop. Commercially sharp, you know that putting customers first is key to meeting targets and budgets, and you’ll take full responsibility for the stores' Profit & Loss account.

Candidates must be fluent in English and able to apply in English and Spanish.
