Job DescriptionAs the global head of the Food Segment in Business Assurance, you will be responsible for defining strategy, driving growth, and ensuring operational excellence in our food certification/services solutions business, ensuring SGS maintains and strengthens its position as global market leaders. The role includes oversight of our Pharma Cosmetics and personal care business, which is a small but strategic segment. You will oversee a multidisciplinary team, foster relationships with key stakeholders, and uphold our reputation for integrity and quality within the TIC industry.
Specific Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business strategy primarily for the food assurance segment, aligned with the organization’s overall goals.
- Identify and capitalize on market trends, emerging risks, and opportunities within the food sector, including new service lines.
- Collaborate with global and regional leadership to ensure consistency in service delivery and innovation.
- Oversee all operational aspects of food certification services, ensuring compliance with industry standards, accreditation requirements, and internal quality processes.
- Lead process optimization to enhance efficiency, scalability, and customer satisfaction.
- Act as a key representative to clients, regulatory bodies, and industry associations, strengthening trust and fostering strategic partnerships.
- Build, manage, and inspire a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Drive the development of pricing strategies that reflect market conditions and maximize profitability.

- Reports to: Head of Business Assurance (ExCo).

Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience in the food certification, TIC, or related industries.
- Familiarity with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards (e.g., ISO 22000, HACCP, BRCGS, FSSC 22000).
- Demonstrated success in driving business growth and leading cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
Required Skills
- Advanced degree in Food Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Familiarity with emerging topics and technologies in food safety and traceability.
- Multilingual abilities and international experience are an advantage.
