Quadra Commodities is a global agricultural commodities trading company. We specialize in sourcing, trading, and logistics of grains, oilseeds, and other soft commodities, ensuring smooth and efficient supply chain management.

We are currently seeking an Experienced Freight Accountant to support our Freight Desk on a full time consultancy basis. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate financial tracking and reporting of our freight activities, providing key financial insights to enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage freight accounting processes, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
• Reconcile freight costs, invoices, and payments, ensuring accuracy and proper allocation.
• Monitor and analyze freight expenditures, liaising with traders and logistics teams to optimize cost efficiency.
• Prepare and review freight-related financial reports, ensuring timely and precise reporting.
• Handle accruals, freight provisions, and variance analysis.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes related to freight accounting.
• Liaise with external auditors and provide necessary documentation as required.
• Implement best practices for freight cost control and risk mitigation.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Proven experience in freight accounting (min 5 years) ideally within the commodities trading sector.
• Strong knowledge of freight cost structures, accounting principles, and international trade finance.
• Mandatory expertise with IMOS / VESON system. Candidate must have hands-on experience and excel in these systems.
• Experience with Sun Systems is a definite plus.
• Ability to work independently and provide consultancy-level expertise.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Fluency in English.
