French Accountant

At WPP Finance we are looking for someone to fill our "General Ledger Accountant" position.

What are we looking for?

1. Good knowledge of the General Accounting Plan in order to be able to analyse items and detect possible recording errors. Ensure compliance with French GAAP and application of IFRS standards.
2. Experience in the analysis of financial information, guaranteeing its integrity, accuracy and consistency (balance sheet, profit and loss accounts, customer and supplier aging, management ratios).
3. Experience in reporting: review and reconciliation of information, loading of data into the reporting platform in compliance with a standardised structure for the whole Group. Analysis of variations and investigation of their origin.
4. Performing reconciliations between accounting and auxiliary modules, accounting reconciliations of customers and suppliers and intercompany balances (detecting differences and following up on them).
5. Preparation and review of general accounting entries: expenses and income provisions, sales adjustments, tax regularisation, additions and removals of PPE, etc.
6. Preparation of specific reports based on data obtained from the different financial systems for presentation to management.
7. Making recommendations focused on optimising management, improving and simplifying procedures.
8. Experience in Statutory Auditing and knowledge of SOX controls will be highly valued.

Do you meet these requirements?

1. Previous experience of +5 years in international financial accounting or audit departments.
2. Knowledge of the General Accounting plan in France is mandatory.
3. Experience in performing tasks with deadlines. Used to working with databases, combining them to obtain summary reports.
4. Advanced Excel level.
5. Languages: French C1 is a must, English B2/C1 highly desirable.
6. Madrid Based.
